In Person Kung Fu Lessons

The local 'in-person' kung fu classes are located in Bath and would suit people with a keen interest in traditional kung fu. There is an emphasis on upgrading one's skill rather than on grades and tests, so you will not find a belt system. We do expect people to buy the school t-shirt and not to wear the clothes or uniform of another martial art clubs when attending the lessons.

Whilst we'd like to keep the lessons open to everyone, it is best that you are reasonably fit and flexible. If this is not the case, then you can arrange for some 1 on 1 kung fu tuition. The 1 on 1 kung fu lessons will teach you everything you need to get up to speed and ready for the group class. I recommend that you set aside 5 sessions at £35 per hour, bookable from 2 hours minimum.

Bagua takes priority in the lessons; this is due to the amount of content and complexity of the kung fu; Xingyi would be next, and then Taiji. A complete system of Baguazhang and Xingyiquan is taught, along with elements of Taijiquan thrown into the mix.

The class is not visible from the street, so you have to arrange to join in by email or phone.

These kung fu lessons are a great benefit to people looking to keep fit without having to go to a gym. You'll learn lots of traditional exercises that help with the health of your mind and body.

You can improve your coordination and lower your stress levels. Internal kung fu will help you to discover more about achieving a better structure when moving and striking.

While we do focus on the more martial aspects of kung fu, we can also learn about meditation, which is an important part of our training.

Online Lessons

The online Bagauzhang lessons are being streamed from my studio based in the UK; streaming is one way (not a group stream like Zoom), the subscribers can see me only, and both Discord and Skype are set up for asking questions using voice and text during the lessons. I also occasionally include pre-recorded footage of forms and fighting applications recorded in my larger space; these video clips can help you better understand how the forms and fighting should be practised.

Each online kung fu lesson duration is around 45 minutes per lesson, and the subscription is billed at the same time each month from when you register and pay.
